9th June 2013

Today I finally make it into the heart of the Pyrenees. I am at Cabdella, a tiny village which sits on an east to west bike route across the Pyrenees. My journey here was through the Pyranean mountains in constant rain, so there are no photos I’m afraid, but here is one I took the day after once the clouds cleared

As you can see there is still snow on the tops even in June.

I am staying at a lovely hotel just outside the village called the Montseny Hotel, where the staff are great and put up with my bad Castillian, even though they all speak Catalan. The food is also excellent and plentiful – just what you need before a long ride.

I can now finally take off my tyres which have been giving me such problems, and put on my big nubbly Maxxis Highrollers. Yeah!

This is my blog of my trip around Spain, off road, on my mountain bike. The story is told in full in my book "Three Wheels on my Bicycle", available on Amazon in Kindle or hardback.
