18th June 2013

Today I decided to man-up and do it. This was despite the forecast for continued rain. I couldn’t wimp out 2 days in a row, and today’s route was supposed to be quite short.

Well, it rained all day – sometimes a constant drizzle, sometimes torrential. There was thunder and lighting on the tops, though fortunately never directly overhead. It was too wet to use the camera, so no photos or video blog today. But it was quite exciting in its own way. Especially on the way down – the track was turning into a stream, and at places where real streams crossed it was even wetter. At the valley bottom I had to ford the river which was in flood. But I seemed to get away with it all and turned up soaked and covered in mud at the hotel by 2.00.

I washed the bike, trailer, bag clothes and finally me in a nice hot bath.

It was just as well I turned up early as the rivers swelled during the afternoon as the water came down from the mountains. See the river Aragon at 6.00 – I forded it a few hours earlier.

This is my blog of my trip around Spain, off road, on my mountain bike. The story is told in full in my book "Three Wheels on my Bicycle", available on Amazon in Kindle or hardback.
